upgrade from vista home basic to ultimate!

Hi,

I have a desktop running with Vista Home Basic OS. Now I decided to upgrade the same to Ultimate version hence I bought a Ultimate OEM CD but it is not allowing me to upgrade the OS. Setup fails every time.

Somebody please help and tell me what the problem is?

As the Ultimate CD is OEM products, you wont be able to upgrade it because OEM versions can't be used for upgrades. So, you will need to do a Clean install by formatting the C Drive.

Is there any specific reason you want you to upgrade from Basic to Ultimate? You can do it but am just asking because most of the people I have seen ask for downgrading from Vista to XP.
