My system configuration is AMD 5600+ cpu, ASUS M2N-SLI, 2GB RAM ad a SATA hard drive. I had installed XP before on it. Now I want to install Windows Vista 64bit on different partition. I had kept a empty space on the drive. I want to know that does it is possible to keep two operating system a single hard drive but I am going to give them separate partitions.

Yes you can do that. But there is a condition. To install a 64bit operating system it is necessary that you must have a 64bit processor. Your system hardware must support a 64bit system or else it would be a waste of time. You can simply put Vista in a different partition and Vista bootloader will give you option go in Windows XP. You can add many OS in single drive but in different partitions. You can use a good boot manager software to manual you multiple boot system.
