no shut down button in start menu

i dont have a shut down button in the start menu, the only option i have is
to log off, or lock my computer, however in the other user accounts on my
computer i do have a shut down button next to the lock button, can anyone
help please it drives me nuts having to log off before i can shut down.

In windows vista there is a third butten that you have to select and it will
pull up a menu and at the bottom it will say shut down and there you go

this website is brilliant, i have added a windows mail tray, and the
task manager didn't work when pressing ctrl+alt+del, but thanks to you i
found how to fix this,

Having the same problem, no shut down dialog. Went to the link you suggested
but tried to run the command but no go. Is there no hotfix for this problem?

Did you logoff and logon, or restart the computer afterwards to apply
the changes?
