Vista doesn't recognize my hard drive when installing

I am having a desktop with Western Digital SATA SE Caviar 500GB Hard drive where I want to install Vista. But when Vista installation reaches the stage where it seeks for the HDD to install, it says “there are no hard drives found.” I checked it twice, hard drive is connected properly.

I don’t have any idea what else I should to get it work. Can anyone of you please help me?

When it asks “Where do you want to install Windows” just check the bottom of screen there will be an option for Load Drivers. Click on this option. And load the drivers. For more info and step by step process, check this article: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/install...ta_drivers.htm

Hello friend, I think you missed some settings under BIOS before starting the setup. Do this:
SATA RAID/AHCI Mode (Intel ICH9R Southbridge): Disabled
SATA Port0-3 Native Mode (Intel ICH9R Southbridge): Enabled
