    BSOD, BCCode: 1000007e

Hi, am facing some huge problem with my fresh installed Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit OS. I had a desktop with EVGA 680i Mobo, EVGA 8600 GTS graphic card and 2gig of RAM. Installed Vista without any problem or error. After installation I added 2 GB more RAM and tested, system worked fine.

Once done, I tried updating the system with the followings:
    KB929735 for Vista x64-based Systems
NVIDIA driver update for NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller
NVIDIA Corporation driver update for NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller
    Windows DreamScene

Once done, system worked fine for about an hour and I got a Blue Screen with:

    STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF8000185DC11, 0xFFFFF98000CA4E58, 0xFFFFF98000CA4830)

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1
    Locale ID: 1033

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 1000007e
    BCP1: FFFFFFFFC0000005
    BCP2: FFFFF8000185DC11
    BCP3: FFFFF98000C9E428
    BCP4: FFFFF98000C9DE00
    OS Version: 6_0_6000
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
    C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini010808-01.dmp
    C:\Users\Rakanishuu\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-42837-0.sysdata.xml
    C:\Users\Rakanishuu\AppData\Local\Temp\WERD00A.tmp.version.txt

Somebody please tell me what could be the reason? Also please suggest something to fix this BSOD. Many thanks.

The most probable cause for this BSOD appears to be the Video driver to me. You should uninstall the video drivers, restart PC and use the system for about 3 to 4 hours. See if it is crashing again.

I appreciate for your help Landon. It helped. I rolled back the Nvidia drivers and download MOBO drivers from their official website and over written Microsoft updates. And now, its been more than a week system haven’t crashed yet. Thank you very much.
