runtime error

I installed WordPerfect Office X3. Quattro Pro X3 has the runtime error-
Program: C:\Program files\WordPerfect OfficeX3\Programs\QPW.exe
abnormal program termination I have reinstalled and have started looking
through the runtime errors but there are soooo many. Is this VISTA or Corels
problem. It's mine I know but I need help. Thanks.

I had this installed but tried it again and restarted but the results are
negative. Thanks for reminding me though I could have forgotten to add the up
date.

After several tries at Corel I found the answer-it required changes in regedit.

What changes did you make in regedit to fix the "abnormal program
termination" error in Quattro Pro X3?

Re: runtime error

Well I have a temporary fix, seems though that I have to do it
periodically but at least it is something.

1. Click Start, Programs, Accessories and Run.
2. In the open window, type: regedit and click OK.
3. Choose the following path
HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Corel\User\Assistant\13\Recent Work\Quattro
Pro\
4. Right click on the Quattro Pro folder, select delete.
5. Say yes when prompted to delete the key.
6. Close the Registry Editor
7. Launch Quattro Pro

Re: runtime error

I found this in Corels knowledge base:

To workaround this issue:

- Click Start, Programs, Accessories and Run.
- In the open window, type: regedit and click OK.
- Choose the following path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\User
Assistant\13\Recent Work\Quattro Pro\
- Right click on the Quattro Pro folder, select delete.
- Say yes when prompted to delete the key.
- Close the Registry Editor
- Launch Quattro Pro
In my case I am running version 12 instead of X3, so my key was
Corel\User Assistant\12, but it works the same.

Re: runtime error

Thank you for the fix. I had decided that X3 would not run on Windows 7, and was about to upgrade to X5, even though I was perfectly happy with what I had. This saved me a considerable amount of money, and I can continue using my files just as they were.
