Remote Desktop Web Connection for Vista

I checked out some article on how to set up Remote Desktop Web Connection with Windows XP on a community website. I was wondering if there is a similar article written on Windows Vista, if Remote Desktop Web Connection worked in Vista or so how can the host get it configured. Thanks for any information.

I think you will need to download and install the Remote Desktop Web Connection ActiveX control that provides most of the same functionality as the full Remote Desktop Connection software; however, the Remote Desktop Web Connection is designed to deliver this functionality over the Web. Download it from here - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=18145

Re: Remote Desktop Web Connection for Vista

Follow the below method to get Remote Desktop Web Connection working in
    Windows Vista Ultimate:
    1. First of all you have to go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, Turn Windows features on or off.
    2. After that you need to go to Internet Information Services and select the check boxes for Web Management Tools and World Wide Web Services. [Web Management Tools installs IIS 6.0 which is needed for the following download; there is also some feature in World Wide Web Services that is needed, but I haven't isolated it yet, so select everything for now]
    3. After that you can install tswebsetup.exe from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
    4. Now you have to go to C: Program Data, Microsoft, Windows, Start Menu, Programs, Administrative Tools, Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager [NOT IIS 6.0 Manager]
    5. After that you need to expand your computer name, expand Web Sites and click on Default Web Site
    6. Then on the right side of the screen under Edit Site, click Bindings and then click on the web site and click Edit
    7. After that change the port number to your preferred port designation
    8. Now you can go under Manage Server on the same screen, Start the service
    9. After that kust set-up your router and firewall to accept your designated port and you are done.

You can use Remote Desktop Web Connection to connect to a remote computer over the Internet. To do this, the remote computer must be running Windows Server 2008, and Terminal Services Web Access (TS Web Access) must be installed. (For information about installing TS Web Access, go to Terminal Services Web Access (TS Web Access) on the Microsoft TechNet website). Follow the method to connect to a remote computer using a web connection from here - http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/w...Web-Connection
