| When I start my computer I get an "array index error"
I´ve got a brand new VAIO computer. Since the very first time I started it the first thing on screen is an error box. At the top it says "Entice" and then, "Array index error" and an "ok" option. What is it. Besides, I don´t know if it is because of the same error, but the desktop gets sometimes crazy, I can´t manage the windows and the names of each windows get erased, what can it be? thanks |

A new computer should not be giving problems. I would put pressure on them to take care of it. Does this same behavior occur when the computer is started in Safe Mode? If not it's something starting in normal mode. You could do some clean boot troubleshooting, disabling startup items, to pinpoint what's generating the error. Here are some links with info on how to do this. They are for XP but the principle is the same for Vista. | RE: When I start my computer I get an "array index error"
From Sony Support Site Error: Array index error Follow this procedure to resolve the Array index error appearing in the Microsoft® Windows Vista® operating system. Click the Start icon, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Run. In the Run window, type MSCONFIG and then press the ENTER key. NOTE: If prompted for an administrator password or a User Account Control prompt is displayed, type the appropriate password or click Continue. In the System Configuration Utility window, click the Startup tab. On the Startup tab, click to clear the check next to any listing that includes Quickbooks or Quick Start. Click the OK button. In the System Configuration dialog box, click the Restart button. NOTE: If other users are currently logged into the computer, a warning will appear that they may lose data if the computer is shut down. To restart the computer, in the Windows dialog box, click the Yes button. "Gabriela" wrote: > I´ve got a brand new VAIO computer.
