I’m having a Windows Vista desktop which was working fine from last 2 weeks (installed it two weeks ago). It was activated. In recent I installed Visual Studio Express Web/C#/VB. Also tried installing Service Pack 1 from Windows update but the installation got failed. Next morning when I started the computer I found that there is a message in the right bottom of the screen saying Windows is not genuine.
When I check Event Viewer Log, I found DistributedCOM error with the following description:
Any help please? The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {8BC3F05E-D86B-11D0-A075-00C04FB68820} to the user Home-PC\{USER} SID (S-1-5-21-471328347-769042369-3731885411-1000) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
