Can I upgrade vista 32bit to vista 64bit with the same product key

I need some help to find that is it possible to use a common product key for both 32bit Windows and 64bit Windows. I am using a 32bit edition of Windows Vista Ultimate. And I got a a 64bit CD. Can I upgrade the 32bit to 64bit. I checked my hardware. The cpu is Intel Core 2 Duo and I think it supports 32bit hardware.

No there is separate product key for each Windows Edition. You cannot use the same on different Windows installation. Second thing if your system supports only 32bit hardware then there is no way you can upgrade that to 64bit. You will have to change the motherboard and processor for that. You will have to buy a 64bit hardware to run a 64bit operating system.
