Uninstalling VMWARE 5.5.1 Causes Blue Screen Of Death in Vista

I am running Windows Vista on my computer and if I am trying to upgrade the VMWare to the latest version then I am getting a blue screen of death error. Can anyone tell me how do I uninstall the old version of Vmware and then install the latest one? Thanks for any replies in advance.

Did you try to uninstall VMware by going into Safe Mode? To get into safe mode, restart the computer and then after the BIOS post screen continuously tap the F8 button and then a Windows Advanced menu will appear. Simply from the given list of choices you have to select Safe Mode and then boot the computer.

I have tried going to Safe Mode and when I am trying to uninstall then I get the following ""The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance." Is there any other suggestions that you can let me know.

    Here is the fix

You can try to download and install a software Revo Uninstaller which is a powerful uninstaller software, an utility that also helps you to optimize Windows startup and delete temporary files. Revo Uninstaller can list all the programs installed on your system and you can uninstall those from a single window. If for any reason the uninstall gives errors, Revo Uninstaller can force the deletion of records.
