Will Vista DVD boot from a 'SATA' DVD-RW on a clean install?

I am about to install Vista on one more PC which is running with 'SATA' DVD-RW. I’m going to do a clean Vista install but before that I would like to know, as it is 'SATA' DVD-RW, do I need to first install the drivers for the same using Bootable floppy drive or I can simply start the installation using Boot DVD? Please reply soon.

Nope, I don’t think you need to install any special driver before booting the DVD because I have done this before and I dint installed any driver for my Plextor SATA DVD Writer. Only make sure to set it first boot device from BIOS.

You are correct Lyalisai but not 100%. Because I had two PCs with SATA controller and Vista worked fine on one PC but not on the second PC. So the conclusion is it completely depends whether or not your Vista has a driver for your SATA controller. You will need to check for the same.

Thank you very much for your replies guys. Furthermore I would like to add that when I installed Vista Beta earlier, it installed the right SATA driver, but I was installing from an 'IDE' DVD-RW then. The concern is will the SATA DVD-RW
drive function before installing the SATA driver from the Vista DVD. I’m sure it is something that depends on our Mobo BIOS. Anyways, I still need to do some research on the same.
