Error code 0x80FE0000 while installing vista

I am trying to install Windows Vista on my secondary Sata hard drive. I have a primary IDE drive on which Windows XP is installed with 2 partitions on the drive. When I used the update advisor then it told me to install Vista Business on my computer but instead I choose to install Ultimate version anyways. When starting the setup, it will just get cancelled all of its own and give me an error stating that 'Windows could not set the offline locale information. Error code 0x80FE0000'. How do I fix this problem.

Can you check your Bios battery and see if that is alright? Did you check whether the date resets with the restart of your computer as well? I am asking you this because while you are trying to install Vista, at the same time it restarts, so thus it might be having this issue. You could try to change the old battery which might be causing this issue and then install new battery and then start the Vista setup.

Even I am getting some kind of error message that is stating "BIOS checksum error -- defaults loaded" after when my computer has been switched off. And using the restart after the BIOS has been reset manually, the issue does not seems to happen. So does this means that it is a flat CMOS battery or so?
