Cannot find Recycle Bin icon on Windows desktop

I need some help here. I know this would be a very minor issue but I think I had done something wrong. First the recycle bin icon is missing. Then my desktop wallpaper disappear. To some extent I am not able to apply any themes. Later on after sometime the system does not remember my user settings. It keeps on creating a new one everytime when I login.

The user profile looks to be corrupted. Try running system restore. In the Start Menu at the below search box type System Restore and open it. In that you just need to choose the right date and restore your system. It is one of the best option to restore your old settings back. If this does not work then you will need to perform startup repair through Vista boot disk.
