Error 734: The PPP link control protocol was terminated.

Earlier I was working on Windows XP computer at my office which upgraded to Windows Vista today. Now when I am trying to connect my system to Virtual Private Network (VPN), I was getting the following error message:

“Error 734: The PPP link control protocol was terminated.”

I never had this error earlier until I was with XP. Is it related to Vista? Is there any special settings on Vista to connect to VPN? Please suggest something.

Resolutions:

1. This is most like security issue, for example, you set to send encrypted passwords and your RAS server does not support encrypted passwords, or reverse situation. Check the security settings on both sides.
2. If multi-link negotiation is turned on for the single-link connection, disable it.
3. This error may occur if you are using user-defined callback in your DUNS setup.
