Error code: 0x80070241 on install

I am trying to install Windows Vista on my compter and so I downloaded it from the microsoft website and then tried to burn it to dvd by using a software called Alcohol 120%. I burned it at only 2x speed and while installing it I was getting the Error code: 0x80070241. Can anyone tell me how do I install it on my computer. Thank you.

I think that it could be a either a bad burn or the iso file of the operating system downloaded from the site might be not proper or it might be also possible that the dvd drive or memory or hard drive in your system could be at fault. So what you can do is copy the Vista dvd to the root of the C: drive, for example - d:\xcopy /e *.* and just use Windows Explorer to copy it there. After that try to run the setup.exe file from within that folder and see if that is able to resolve the problem for you.

Even I am facing the same issue and have tried it multiple times to install the OS on my computer. After about 15% of the installation the same error code pops-up and I dont know what to do after that. Please help.

You can try to install Vista from the bootable DVD by enabling boot from DVD drive in the bios first and then do the setup. Follow the below steps in details:

1. Once you have booted from DVD through bios, then VISTA boot option will come on the screen
2. After that you have to press enter setup will copy files for installation support
3. Now you need to select type of VISTA software you want to install
4. AFter that select upgrade/clean install
5. Now you have to select your drive in case of clean install
6. After that check to do not upgrade software on the next screen and follow the rest of the setup that will run smoothly.
