| RC1: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD when expanding files
I'm trying to install RC1 from the ISO image, either boot from DVD or from another partition. In either case, I am getting a BSOD stating a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error during the Expanding Files... phase. The details are: STOP: 0x0000001A (0x00008887,0x0000AD97,0x00000000,0x00000000) The computer is pretty recent - Athlon XP 2400+, 1GB RAM, nForce2, ATI Radeon x1600PRO. Attempting to install to a 27GB partition. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

I can't offer any help I'm afraid but I've got exactly the same problem... after some persevering I managed to get Vista to install and now get the same on the performance check and at other random intervals. I'll let you know if I figure any thing out. Same random errors for me. Videocard is an ATI AIW9800se. Worked fine for beta2, and 54xx builds. Seem's ATI driver is broken, has anyone, in particular Microsoft, a solution? Related question, is it possible to load a displaydriver during the setup (fase 1), maybe a "fixed driver" can be used as workaround. mmjatheunissen@hotmail.com "CM" wrote: > I'm trying to install RC1 from the ISO image, either boot from DVD or from > another partition. I've got an Nvidia 7900GTX so looks like it's not just an ATI driver issue. I've got: Althon 64 4400+ Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe 4GB RAM Installing on an empty 200Gb drive on the primary IDE channel "CM" <morrischarles@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:%23vZ$AdrzGHA.720@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > I'm trying to install RC1 from the ISO image, either boot from DVD or from > another partition. I have also had the same problem, and not yet found a solution. I have a AMD 64 - 3500+, 2.22GHZ 3GB Ram. Geforece 7600 GT. Stop code was: 0x0000001a 0x00008887 0x0003f883 0x00000000 0x000000 This happens regardless of whether I do a clean install or an upgrade. I have tried 5 times and get the same problem. Thank you PB -- This was most helpful! Turns out I had a bad mem module that XP was otherwise oblivious to.
