That error code is often due to the BIOS not being recognised as fully ACPI compatible. Do you have the latest BIOS update on the laptop? -- Jane, not plain ;) 64bit enabled ;) Batteries not included. | Re: Error 0xC0000225 I think this problem may be associated with APIC (Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller, not ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface). I got the problem described above, and I enabled APIC, which I had disabled for XP Pro only. Following this, Vista installation CD booted just fine. -- saberrebas |

Yeah. APIC option in bios fixed this for me. I had disabled it to install a version of Linux that I wanted to test and forgot to re-enable it during a vista(actually server 2008) test install. After enabling it Windows Install started right up. |

| Re: Error 0xC0000225
i reformatted my computer, but in the progress of that i notice no files was actually being installed but the bars / percentages keep going until it says reformat was complete. it then restart and re-boost like usually so it can get the new setting going. But then i come to this error where it say cant boot up file window32, error 0xc0000225. Its similar to this Error 0xC0000225 So yeah, its probably because the reformat wasn't actually instilling files because it was blocked by something in that thread, apic or w.e. Thats why it couldn't boost up because no files was actually installed. So how do i fix it? the thread said something about enabling apic in bios. I take a look at my bios when it the comp first starts and i see it enabled. But i couldn't able to high line on that and make adjustment to either disable or enable. It was in a blue color which doesn't allow you to go to it so how can i change the apic to disable or enable just to see if it works if i disable. Or another way i could do it to get the reformat function. Because the reformat progress run but there wasn't any files being installed so that's probably something blocking it so help me out. My computer is a new 2007 bought Fry's computer. Its vista and its a desktop. |

I just had this problem after using Acronis 10 to clone a Vista Hard drive. Not only did the new, larger, hard drive generate the 0xc0000325 Error, so did the source drive! So now I had no way to boot the frikken computer. No restore media either (this is a cheap Toshiba from Best Buy). I had put three unholy days of work put into the stinking thing getting it all configured for a highly impatient customer. Cloning was the last step after updating, removing fruit salad, restoring files and setting up Contact, Email, and Web editing software. I was suicidal! This is what saved me. http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/window...disc-download/ They're hosting the recovery media for both Vista 64 and Vista 32. It's a bittorrent, so you'll have to get a torrent client if you don't already have one. I use Vuze, others may know of a better one. Got the .iso file (~130Mbytes) burned the CD, started the computer from it, and Bliss, oh Bliss! The Vista Recovery Environment asked if I wanted to run Recovery (not Install!), detected Hard drive problems, asked if I wanted to restart so it could fix em'. I hit OK, the computer restarted, and everything is working! Even if you don't have a problem now, I highly advise getting the .iso files in case you need them down the road. Maybe because your recovery CD gets lost/hosed, or because you bought a cheap computer that only puts an image of the original HD install back. Best download I ever did! |
