| Windows Boot Manager Fails on Vista Install
I'm trying to install Vista Beta 2, after it boots from the DVD, I get an error stating: "Windows did not start correctly. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. File: \windows\system32\winload.exe Status: 0xc0000001 Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt." Any thoughts on this? At this point I'm unsure if its hardware related, or a bad download/burn of the ISO image. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Sincerely A bewildered sys admin... |

Problem resolved... It was apparently a bad burn. After creating a new DVD it has made it past that point, but naturally, I'm still waiting. :) "Dazed" wrote: > I'm trying to install Vista Beta 2, after it boots from the DVD, I get an > error stating: > > "Windows did not start correctly. Have you read my posts on Winload.exe? Have your bios autodetect all your hard drives..or at least the ones that have an operating system on it. It will then continue the install and you will have vista running. Vista doesnt seem to detect the harddrives, and therefore unable to finish booting from it. So you need to make sure its showing in the bios, autodetecting. OK Taz I read your posts. The BIOS on my PC autodetects my hard drive but the vista bootable CD is not working. I had the same error.
