    Vista Error 0xc00000e9

I have a very short question but the problem is big. I was trying to install Windows Vista on one of my desktops but every time it gets stuck with Error Code 0xc00000e9. I found few guys on web saying to detach any external drive connected with the system and start installation again. I did the same but still getting the same error code.

    Any advice?

You have such a big problem but is your post enough to describe the same properly? Nobody knows which vista version you trying to install, what is your system configuration? Is it dual boot, upgrade or fresh install? Also don’t know when you exactly receiving the error?

What make you think you can get good solution to fix your problem with the details mentioned in your post?

Even I’m getting the same error message. It is a desktop PC running with AMD 64 3200, 1.5GB Ram, Geforce 6600 graphic card. Assuming that if any hardware is creating the issue I disconnected video card, sound card, external USB devices and ran the setup but still it wont installs.

    Somebody please help.

Assuming that you guys are trying to install Vista with a downloaded ISO burned DVD. If am right, then most probably your ISO would have got corrupted during the download and hence such problem is occurring. Another reason could be the DVD. ISO wouldn’t have burned properly. You should check out this URL for the instructions on burning the DVD http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvist...y/preview.mspx

I don’t think download or burning could be the problem. Because I too faced this error code and after reading your post, I re downloaded the ISO, burned again with slowest speed on a new DVD but still when try to install it on my laptop, it says error code 0xc00000e9. I don’t know whats wrong.
