| Trying to Reinstall windows Vista Home Premium 32bit Ok Heres how it started i turned on my pc the other week (Dell Dimension E520) and it froze so i turned it of by the power button on the front of the pc and ever since then the pc will not load up it will just hang on the loading screen for windows then just restart its self and sometimes even go to a blue screen with a error like hidusb.sys. So i tryed reinstalling windows vista and i get to a option "Where do you want to install windows" and i have no options it says no drives where found. And then says click load driver to provide mass storage driver for installation and im completely confused why no drives where found is this because i have to format my hard drive or is it something else.:) By the way sorry if this is in the wrong forum im a "Newby" to this site. -- weeman89 |

You should be able to install using the hidden system restore. It should not be asking for a place to restore as it knows where to do it and has the drivers which you seem to be missing with your approach. Had the exact thing happen last week. My problem occurred when I tried to install a noncompatible program. Dell was able to solve it for me...Unfortunately I don't know exactly how it was done...they may be able to help. I could not use the system restore and I could not reinstall Windows because it could not find the drive. I'm a newbie so this may or may not help. Good Luck. |

hey there windows vista requires a NTFS file system to install u could have formatted ur hard disk as a fat32 so to solve this prob. just put the vista dvd into ur drive run it as always when u get to the screen which says install just click on repear a small screen should appear hit the last option (command prompt) a dos window opens it should say X:/sources u should type format c: and then press enter then click y and enter,,, if u have another partition with a copy of windows xp installed on, just go to that and go to run in the start menu type cmd and then convert c:/fs:ntfs hope it works out for u Merry X-mas |
