Vob Files in WMP11 Library

I have ripped DVD's onto my hard drive and have enabled Media Center to show these in the "DVD Gallery" thanks to a previous thread. However I cannot add these to my library in Media Player nor can I add any attributes like Abstract or Album/Cover Art. I am guessing that I need to add some registry entries but I don't know what keys or fields. Does anyone have any sugestions?

Re: Vob Files in WMP11 Library

Media Player seems hard coded to not play files with the extension vob.
Rename them to AVI and it is happy.

Other way around: it's hard-coded to only play extensions that it is
registered to play/handle. You should generally be able to extend playback
every which way so long as you have a properly configured third party
handler for that type. For the library, you'd need a third party library
handler.

Generally .vob would best be renamed to .mpg . =)

I've been working with MS products for many years now and know that "nothing" is ever hard coded. I would prefer to leave the file extensions as they are and add the Registry entries for .vob instead. Have either of you tried to copy the registry entries from .mpg to .vob? Or do you know of anyone that has the entries for .vob?
