"security settings do not allow activeX"

I have windows vista and windows One Care. I play games on the computer and
just recently, games that I have played for more than 4 years suddenly prompt
a message that says that my security settings to not allow ActiveX in some
programs. I don't use the Windows Firewall, only the One Care since two
firewalls could conflict with one another. This is really starting to get on
my nerves because the games no longer run smoothly. They freeze up.

It's IE that has the security settings that are not allowing an ActiveX
control to be installed so that IE can use it. You need to check the
settings in IE. However, you should be very careful as to what ActiveX
controls are allowed to be installed on the computer particularly if they
are not Vista compliant ActiveX controls and most of them are not Vista
compliant, which can and will lead to IE crashing or Vista itself crashing.

The firewall has nothing to do with this. I have heard of the One Care as
being a FW, but who you should really have enabled is the Vista FW.
