How can I manually clear the cache ?

    Hollo

    Windows Vista Ultimate

In Windows XP, I used to manually clear Cookies, Temp files and Internet
Temp files from the Local Settings (after enabling the file extension views
from Tools > Properties > View tab).

How can I do this in Windows Vista Ultimate ? I found only Temp folder under
Local in the Explorer but not the Cookies folder and Internet Temp folder.

    Many thanks.

    Best

Re: How can I manually clear the cache ?

    Thanks John...

    1) Isn´t there a way to check those folders as in Windows XP ?
    2) From the Disk Cleanup, under "Files to delete", I found "Hibernation File
Cleaner" with 2.98GB size of it. What´s this ?

    Thanks

RE: How can I manually clear the cache ?

    Dear Customer,

Thank you for posting in newsgroup. And thanks all the members for the
    contribution.

According to the description, the issue seems to be related to clearing
Cookies folder and Internet Temp folder. If I have any misunderstanding,
please feel free to let me know.

Thanks John for his knowledge sharing. For your further concern, here is
some information which may be helpful for you.

    Analysis and Suggestion:
    ======================

Q1. Isn't there a way to check those folders as in Windows XP?

A: If I don't misunderstand, you want to check the Cookies folder and
Internet Temp folder in Window XP. To make it clarification, with Internet
Explorer, the Cookies are in the same location of Internet Temp Folder. You
may refer to following steps to find the location of the folder.

    1. Right-click the icon of "Internet Explorer" on the desktop and select
    "Properties"
    2. Click the "Settings" button under the area of "Browsing history"
    3. You may view the "Current location" on the pop-up dialog box ,and Click
the "View files" to open the folder with windows explorer.
    4. You may delete the Cookies and the Temp Internet Files manually, or you
may click "Delete¡*" button under the area of "Browsing history".

Q2. From the Disk Cleanup, under "Files to delete", I found "Hibernation
File Cleaner" with 2.98GB size of it. What's this?

A: The hibernation file contains information about the state of the
computer as it enters hibernation. If you do not use the hibernation power
setting, you can remove this file to free up disk space.

Please note: Removing the hibernation file will disable hibernation. If you
use hibernation on the computer, please don't remove this file. You may
select "System and Maintenance" in the "Control Panel", and then click
"Power Options" to adjust power settings or to enable hibernation.

    Hope it helps.
