On Vista where is the sound stereo mix on the windows volume control
Hi all, I am trying to record output from a music based software program called DJ Sam Party. I also want to record with my mic which is plugged into the mic input on the laptop and to have them recorded onto Adobe audition to be able to record a radio type show as in a DJ-ing format. But, I cannot find where to adjust the recording settings on Vista so that instead of Adobe Audition only recording the output from the microphone, but to also be able to record the output from DJ Sam Party. On Windows XP i noticed that its on the sound icon in the system tray and its called "stereo mix", but cannot find the same or where it is on Vista. Does anyone know??? Thanks. |

Right-click the taskbar icon and go to Playback Devices. Double-click the Speakers, or whatever device, and the extra control tabs display. Or, Start/Control Panel/Hardware & Sound/Sound/Manage Audio Devices. Anything more sophisticated would I assume come via software for your sound card. |

Re: On Vista where is the sound stereo mix on the windows volume contr
Use the Control Panel > Sound > Recording tab > Right click on the background and choose "show disabled devices." > Right click on Wave Out Mix (Stereo Mix) and click enable. It should now work the same way as Wave Out Mix (Stereo Mix) in Windows XP, allowing you to record the sounds your computer plays. -- website references are to www.papajohn.org |

Re: On Vista where is the sound stereo mix on the windows volume c
Hi there, Thanks for your replies and helpful advice. I'm new to microsoft community after a friend advised me to try this site for help on vista. Reading through the other posts previously it seems stereo mix on Vista is a bit of a bug bearer. I hope and pray I'm one of the fortunate ones that can change the sound settings and get stereo mix!! Will let you know as my laptop is in my room upstairs but don't yet have access to the internet on it. Will update you all with hopefully some good news!! Thanks! |
