    Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection

    Hi,
Whenever I do an ipconfig I get a bunch of connections that are not
active. It lists my active connections, but then I get a whole series of
    these:
Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 6:

    Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :

Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 7:

    Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :

They don't seem to be causing any harm and the only downside is that I
sometimes have to scroll around to find the connection that is active.
    What are these?
    thanks

You could Run-> CMD then in DOS, enter>Netsh winsock reset
    Need to restart after this.

Could check out more netsh options; also in Defender you can see in Explorer
    winsock connections.

Those are the IP4toIP6 translation adapters for the IPv6 protocol in
Vista. They will cause no harm and you can ignore them.

Just as a matter of interest, i have a total of 27 adapters installed!
Adapters 7-27 are to do with Tunnel Adapters. Why so many? As a mater of
interest, I do have VM Ware installed.
