Sims 1 and 2 can not work home vista

Please can someone help my daughter.

We can not play either Sims 1 or 2 on our new Dell PC with Home Vista.

Try installing them as administrator (right click the setup.exe then run as
administrator)

I know for a fact there is a patch for SIMS, as I have installed it on
the same system I built for an 11 yr old kid.
Never had a problem since.
The patch is on SIMS website...or

Weird. I have Windows Vista and I can play the Sims 2, along with three
of the expansion packs, without error and have been since I bought it.

Then again, I bought Sims 2: Deluxe...so maybe it had the patches
already included.

What error message are you getting? What model Dell are you using
(Dimension ____)?

More info will result in a better answer than installing as admin. Sims
1 complete and Sims 2 (any) should install normally in Vista.

FYI, so does Sims 3, but i'm not allowed to talk about that yet. :P

It does, each re-release of Sims games includes the patch for that game,
when you run a new expansion you basically don't run the old version, so
the only patch you need is for the newest expansion that you own.
