| Error 0x800704c8
I installed a clean version of Vista Ultimate on my office desktop 2 days ago and updated everything through Microsoft Update. Everything seemed fine until I tried to download a HP printer software which was about 245MB, when the download was finished and at the end of copying it to the HDD the error message popped up: "Error 0x800704C8: The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open" Clicking Retry didn't help and I had to cancel the download eventually. Then I tried to download a smaller ATI driver software everything went ok. I have another desktop at home with the same OS and the problem didn't happen, the whole file downloaded fine. Searching Microsoft's knowledge base didn't return anything. I found it on Google that it might have been due to anti-virus software but stopping my anti-virus software didn't help either. Does anyone know the reason and is there a fix for this problem? Louis |
