Anyone run into this error message - setup detected that the operating system in use is not windows vista (32-bit)

I tried running Vista SP1 and got
setup detected that the operating system in use is not windows vista
(32-bit)

But it is 32 bit, it was pre installed on my HP Pavilion.

I also got the same "setup detected that the operating system in use
is not windows vista (32-bit)" error message when I ran the NVidia
graphics card driver update program... so there is more to this then
just SP1.

Right click on my computer and select properties and tell us what it says
there for the OS

That it's a 32 bit OS. Windows Vista Home Premium.

I emailed SP1 Support at MS and they sent a link to a SP1 Download. I
downloaded it and ran it and it installed SP1. It's running with no
problems.

Hi Ashton!

I have the totally same problem as you. I have also Windows Vista 32-bit.

Please could you post link, where can I download SP1 for Vista?

Thank you.

Is it a problem if I have Slovak language on my Vista? Which language is this SP1 from link designed for? Sorry, but I don't understand it very well.

If I install this SP1 to my PC, I will not be able to use Slovak language?

Thank you.

Hi,

Sorry, you did not specify the language. Use this link instead, and change
the language in the dropdown accordingly:

I have downloaded it, but when I launch install, it wrote:

I just want do reinstall it and not to install it. Do you know what to do, please?

Hi,

You can't reinstall a service pack. Why do you think you need to?

Hi,

I thought that the person who created this topic did it in this way. Or I have misunderstood it? I have Vista 32-bit, but when Im trying to install Graphic drivers, it writes:

What can I do with this?

I cannot see the thread that you originally responded to, only your response
which was passed to the Microsoft newsservers by the forum you are using.

Have you checked with support for the video card about the error?

Re: Anyone run into this error message - setup detected that the operating system in use is not windows vista (32-bit)

I mean this:

Ashton Crusher
I tried running Vista SP1 and got
setup detected that the operating system in use is not windows vista
(32-bit)

But it is 32 bit, it was pre installed on my HP Pavilion.

I also got the same "setup detected that the operating system in use
is not windows vista (32-bit)" error message when I ran the NVidia
graphics card driver update program... so there is more to this then
just SP1.

Simply, I have Vista 32, but when Im trying to install new Nvidia graphic driver, it write setup detected that the operating system in use is not windows vista (32-bit).

Hi,

Not to ask a stupid question, but are you certain? Click start and type
'control system', then hit <enter> - what does the system type line report?
