Control Panel/Default Programs/"set your default programs" Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list, In 'Protocols". You want to assign the 'mailto:' protocol to Windows Live Mail -- Was this helpful? Then click the "Yes" Ratings button. Voting helps the web interface. http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/locales....htm#RateAPost Mark L. Ferguson .. Done,as you said but the mailto protocol was before : Windows Live Mail so I don't need to modify the settings. Unfortunately don't work the problem is something else. Appear this message when I click my email addresses links on the sidebar gadget: impossible access the device, path or specified file. Probably you haven't the necessary rights. Thank you "Mark L. Alberto It's very likely that the sidebar gadget was developed for Windows Mail and is not aware of the Live Mail program. We need some details to try and recreate the behavior you are seeing. What is the name of the gadget? I don't think it is going to work at all---Windows Mail seems to use a storage file of some sort for its contacts, something like the old *.wab address books. I believe the Contact gadget you are referring to reads directly from that file. Windows Live Mail seems to use a folder with individual contact files C:\Users\{user profile}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Contacts\gerryf19@hotmail.com\real I don't think it is capable of reading them individually.
