| BAD memory Dump
I am currently running dial boot between Windows XP PRO and Windows Vista ULTIMATE x86, so my system is not completely down. Just recently I started getting a blue screen that tells me physical memory dump, and it restarts my computer. This only happens when I try to boot in Vista, either normal mode, or safe mode. This happens immediately at the login screen. I tried installing a program called Alcohol 120%, and it gave me this memory dump error during the install on Vista. I believe this to be the source. I booted in XP PRO and deleted the folder that it installed to, but no dice. And I'm not sure if it left any drivers, or where they are located, and I cannot access the registry to vista from XP PRO. Please any help? Thanks, Rich |

You have the vista DVD. Boot from it, and do a Startup Repair. -- Mick Murphy - Qld - Australia "Richard" wrote: > I am currently running dial boot between Windows XP PRO and Windows Vista > ULTIMATE x86, so my system is not completely down. > > Just recently I started getting a blue screen that tells me physical memory > dump, and it restarts my computer. You can do a system restore from the Start up disk unless they are wiped out by you booting to XP. You could also try 'last known good' using the F8 key but you may have killed that with multiple tries to get into Vista. I have tried both methods. I booted with the CD and tried a restore, but it told me there were no restore points. I JUST installed VISTA last night, so it hasn't been up long. Was up long enough for me to configure everything to my liking :*(. Last known good config was a no-go either. Please tell me I have other options than to reinstall it :*( "John Barnes" wrote: > You can do a system restore from the Start up disk unless they are wiped out > by you booting to XP. | Re: BAD memory Dump
Since you just installed, you can do a repair install and probably salvage most of what you want to. You will have to redo any updates "Richard" <Richard@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5E0EAECB-1BF7-456B-9863-BBFD0560C34D@microsoft.com... >I have tried both methods. Can you try using a restore point if one exists prior to when the problems began regards Robert "Richard" <Richard@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2A6FA54C-73C4-44BB-AC12-17BDD981E774@microsoft.com... >I am currently running dial boot between Windows XP PRO and Windows Vista > ULTIMATE x86, so my system is not completely down. > > Just recently I started getting a blue screen that tells me physical > memory > dump, and it restarts my computer.
