evcz May I respectfully suggest that you do not let Windows Update update any of your drivers. Bad practise, I believe. Why don't you go to the HP web site and download any new drivers from there. It is a lot safer and you can save the driver to your hard drive and then install after you have logged off the net. That's the way I would do it. By all means, find out from Windows Update what's available and then go to the HP site and download from there. -- regards CL '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' '''''''''''''''''''' "evcz" wrote: > Since yesterday windows update is reporting that there's a new updated > available for my printer: HP PSC 2110: > > http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/1...8110142fv3.png > > when i go to see the details I see: > http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/4...8110220ae5.png > > and further detailed: > http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/6...8110238oe0.png > > The printer now is working, is powered on, but when I try to install it i get: > http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/1...8110335cw2.png > > why is it not able to install it? > > how can i update that driver using windows update?? the printer do not > result in the "hardware list"... but only in printers window... so i cannot > right click on it and do a "update driver" :( > > Any suggestion on how to update it? > > Thank you, > best regards |

That link is not on Windows Update -- it is clearly on the HP website even if Windows Update points to it. Have you checked what Windows update says and whether the driver is dated after January 2007? And if you follow that link it just tells you how to install the driver that comes "in the box" which is probably why it fails since it is already there ..... In other words, as others say, don't believe everything that Windows Update suggests for third party hardware. Time and again I've seen them suggest installing an update for my video card and if I check the manufacturer they do not have one more uptodate than the one I have. You will also note that Microsoft's Windows Update never gives any useful information about the driver version number they suggest. |
