Cannot send email by Windows Live Mail

I configured Windows Mail as my default email clients for several POP3 accounts. Everything went fine but due to some unknown reasons i am not able to receive any mail from any of the accounts. There is no problem in sending emails, i can send using any of the 10 accounts configured but none of them are able to receive the emails. Can anyone please tell me what is wrong? This is Windows Vista Ultimate. Thank you.

When your email gets failed while sending you actually receive an Error Message. you should have posted that Error as well here while posting the query. Anyways, can you tell me which Antivirus or security suite have you installed on your computer? I am asking this because there are several Antivirus which dont work good with for Windows Mail. They use to have some features which make them scan all incoming emails and interferes with sending or receiving that can be turned off by drilling the settings. Most of the time they block emails considering them as threat coming on your computer and Norton holds the top position in this.

SO if you have any such antivirus installed, make sure it is turned off and see if you are able to receive the message. If yes, then you will need to uninstall the antivirus.

Thanks a lot for your valuable help Scott. I am using McAfee. Yes, i was able to receive the emails after turning it off but if I turn that off wouldn't that be destroying the purpose of having the AV in the first place?

BTW this is the error message i was recieving with every failed messages:

i tried to sent a very important letter i went to click send it froze and closed whats wrong with microsofts isssue after issue i need that email its vanished

I also have this problem. I can set up email accounts other than hotmail and recieve just fine... but then I cannot send from them.

Which AV are you using? A number of AVs and FW's have a setting that scans
email and interferes with sending or receiving that can be turned off by
drilling the settings. Norton often does this.

Well, can you try to disable the antivirus that you have for a few minutes and then try to send mails. Sometimes AV scanners break and time out outgoing email connections. Don't forget to turn on your anti-virus back on after the test. If it is the antivirus you can try increasing your smtp scanning timeouts, reinstalling that antivirus program.
