Hello.
I am curerntly having problem with Japanese IME 'Input Mode'... (new

It is set up as 'Hiragana', but even though, it always go back to 'Half
width Alhanumeric'... So, everytime I need to type Japanese, I need to pull
up tha bar, and select input mode,, and change it to 'Hiragana'..
I did not have this problem with Windows XP.

Also the Japanese font looks weard... wanted to change it but there is no
where I can change it..

Please help!

Thank you.

Yoshibe, I am sorry. I doubt anyone will be able to help you here.

It occurred to me that this post related to Chinese character sets may be of
help. I know it may cause a smile on your face, I understand the languages
are different but this person describes the precise steps he took to get his
characters straight. Perhaps this will be of some guidance to you also.

*****************
For everyone out there who wants to type Chinese in simplified and
traditional script.

If you downloaded the packs, you click Control Panel>Keyboards and
Languages>Change keyboards>Installed Services.

Click on the Add button:go find Language >Chinese PRC>keyboard>Show
More>Chinese (Simplified) Microsoft Pinyin IME>Chinese (Traditional) - US
keyboard>OK>Apply and finished.

And it works, if you click in the language toolbar Chinese PRC, the menu
will
show a button with Character set in which you can tick for Simplified,
Traditional and Extended Character Set.

新年快樂!

心想事成,万事如意

Mandarina

Re: Japanese IME Windows Vista 'Input Mode' problem

Yoshibe-
I am having exactlly the same problem as you. It is making me so angry!
Microsoft's support for IMEs is terrible, there is almost nothing. If you
find anything that works, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks
