Audio Recording

Vista Ultimate
Playing FLV with FLV player and I want to record the music being played to a
..wma file.
Tried Windows Audio Recorder but that does not seem to have a way to record
what Vista is playing.
How do I do that?
I do not want to use external patch cords.
Is there a way to set this up?

Re: Audio Recording

I've been trying for weeks to get Vista to record line-in on my Dell
Dimension 9200. It seems that line-in recording has been disabled on Vista -
leastwise I can't get it to work.

This really is the final straw with Vista - I'm going back to XP.

Re: Audio Recording

Perhaps you could try what I do.

I have a SoundBlaster Audigy.

I installed Audacity (free Recording program)
In options for input choice I select What-You-Hear

This may not work with your sound card but it works for me.

Re: Audio Recording

I just recorded from line-in. Took about 30 seconds with Vista, so it is not
disabled. I can also record stereo mix (what you hear), even using windows
recorder, though I prefer a 3rd party recorder.

Enjoy going back to XP.

For weeks trying to activate the line-in recording you could not notice a
simple thing. You MUST set this option as default.

Vista is an IQ test. Your IQ is below hundred, way below. You belong to XP.

Start - Control Panel - Sound
Recording tab
select which inputs

Re: Audio Recording

Try this.

To enable line-in monitoring:

-Right click speaker icon in tray.
-Left click playback devices.
-left click speakers.
-left click properties.
-left click levels tab.
-SCROLL DOWN to "rear blue" and adjust.
-hate vista.

Re: Audio Recording

I use WMCapture which does a beautiful job both for audio or video from
the screen. Try the free demo: 'WM Capture - Super High Quality Video
Recorder'
