Fujitsu ScanSnap S510 x64 out...for Europeans only

If you live in Europe, you can get the x64 ScanSnap software if you
provide the info from this Fujitsu page

(The IP is registered to Fujitsu Europe, and I verified that with
Fujitsu themselves).

Unfortunately, Fujitsu Computer Products of America said that those
drivers were "European only" due to "different hardware", that I could
be put on a mailing list and x64 drivers should be out "by the end of
this [2008] year".

If anyone from Europe (or outside) wants to try to get these drivers
and test them, I'd be curious to see if they work with non-European
hardware and how well they work overall.

I called (vs. online chat) Fujitsu Computing Products of America (FCPA)
and while the repknew of no x64 release, the rep nicely offered to look
into it. I gave the rep the tech b. # and I was told to expect an email
reply within a few days. Very polite.

Have any Europeans attempted to get the drivers from Fujitsu Europe

Finally resolved. I got a nice tech on the online chat who told me to
try ScanSnap 4.2, which is the x64 compatible version that comes with
the S300. He gave me an ftp login and a link to download (a 700MB file!)
from. Works like a charm

whatever ( ScanSnap 4.2)
or maybe email it to me or something.. I need it..:confused:

Anyone out there Have an S300? I have an S300M and would like to try the S300 software to use it on windows.
