I had a file do the same thing on my desktop and unable to delete "File not found" etc.
I right clicked "New"- "Folder"
Renamed it the same file name. Voila! removed.
Delete "New Folder" you renamed.
Done.
Good luck and hopefully one can remove the pesky files without having to be an expert or running incessant commands. :)
Noodle... YOU ARE MY HERO!!!!.... Your advice worked PERFECTLY!!..
Thank you.
Just run CHKDSK to get rid of these bad folders.
Goto Start then click Computer right click the hardrive that the bad files is on, click Properties then Tools under Error-Checking click Check Now.
Make sure "Automatically fix file system errors" is ticked. Click Start then restart pc let it do it's thing and the file will be gone when you have restarted.
Can anyone help me?? I have an empty folder on my programs and features that I cannot delete. I get this message when I try and delete it....
The feature uou are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Im trying to delet an iTunes file and a bonjour file from my programs but cannot figure out how to go by doing it. I've tried downloading and installing the same file but the program says it cannot update the bounjour file.......
Can you download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility in your pc. After that install it and launch Windows Installer CleanUp by going to Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up", find any iTunes and/or QuickTime entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those entries, and click “remove”.
thanks it worked.
okay, so i looked and tried all of these and i've had my file for ages.
now, here's something that actually works. i'm not too technical with my ict and i managed to figure it out.
go onto command prompt either search or find in accessories on the start menu or windows vista. then, where it comes up with all the C:\documents and settings stuff, after that type in 'del' then open up the folder where the undeleted file is, then drag into command prompt.
then it says, delete y/n and type y and press enter and voila.
The 7zip worked perfectly as mentioned above, Thanks A Lot.
