no thumbnail for AVI files in Windows Explorer

Other images and video files show thumbnail images in Windows Explorer
    but not my AVI files?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Cheers,

Re: no thumbnail for AVI files in Windows Explorer

Are you using Vista 32-Bit or Vista 64-Bit? If you're using Vista
64-Bit, you'll need to use 64-Bit codecs to view the thumbnails
    correctly.

I use this one: 'Vista Codec Package Homepage'

It's available in both 32-Bit and 64-Bit versions. Just if you install
the 64-Bit version, you'll ned to switch to the 64-Bit Windows MEdia
    Player also.

If you believe the myth about codec packs being bad, then you can
always try a new DivX : 'DivX Video Player - DivX Video Codec - DivX
    Converter' (http://www.divx.com)
