| Temp Folder
There are a large number of files in \Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp folder which do not seem to get deleted when temporary files are deleted via Disk Cleanup. Is it ok to simply delete all these files or are they needed by some programs? D |

Yes you can, although there certain applications that store files there such as Microsoft Office for assisting in the installation of updates/Service Packs. This is where error logs for your applications are also so stored, so make you take a second look before deleting just to be sure. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "Denis" <denis@durnian> wrote in message news:%23tloW3fJIHA.5400@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > There are a large number of files in \Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp > folder which do not seem to get deleted when temporary files are deleted > via Disk Cleanup. > > Is it ok to simply delete all these files or are they needed by some > programs? > > D |

It is usually safe to delete these. Just look before you delete to be safe like Andre stated. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/10...mp-folder.html Shawn -- brink *There are no dumb questions, just the people that do not ask them.* WWW.VISTAX64.COM (\"HTTP://WWW.VISTAX64.COM\") *Please post feedback to help others.* |

Hello, I have a simaliar issue as described below.I would like to delete 2 files in my temp folder. The only problem is it says it cannot do this because the file(s) are open in another program.I have used many PC fix it tools, but does not remove them, even CCleaner.I have searched everywhere to find them, but cannot. These 2 files are DLL files from a MS simulator that I un installed. Also I have a message when I try to delete MS simulator files in the search field at the start icon...the message says "could not find this item, this item is no longer located in c:\users\#####\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent. Again I cannot find them anywhere, manually or buy using PC fix software.Any help would be great!!!Thanks Mattu |
