| Media Player 11 (11.0.6000.6344)
I updated my media player last week and now it wont play videos. Get a message saying that some of my video files are missing and to reboot. Doesnt help. When I try to download again, I get a message saying that I have version 11.0.6000.6344 already installed and they cant fix or reinstall with that on. Nothing I do seems to delete this file...not even in the registry. Any help? thanks |

It says that I am missing some video files and to reboot which does not help. When I try to redownload, it tells me that I already have a better version (11..6000.6344) and cannot fix or download over that. I have tried to uninstall, but nothing works. | Re: Media Player 11 (11.0.6000.6344) You cannot possibly install Windows Media Player 11 onto any normal Vista system: please don't try, you're just banging your head against a wall there. What is the precise text of the specific error message that you get? Those specifics are really key to helping you best. =D -- Speaking for myself only. | Re: Media Player 11 (11.0.6000.6344) That implies to me that your video card driver or graphics adapter is not functioning well. | Re: Media Player 11 (11.0.6000.6344) What's the full and complete name of this component? You only listed the version number before, not the name, which is/was confusing. =) Given the data provided, I would focus on trouble-shooting the video card / video card driver if I were you. -- Speaking for myself only. | Re: Media Player 11 (11.0.6000.6344) Hi every1... I`ve got a bit of a problem with my media player... The thing is, my pc is working on both xp and vista... It came with vista, and I requested that xp be installed... It seems that when XP was installed on top of vista it copied it`s wmp.exe to the vista media player folder, so when ever I try to start wmp, I get this message: The file wmplayer.exe has a version nuber of 11.0.5721.5145 where 11.0.6000.6344 was expected... Vista won`t let my install the version again from the internet...Any ideas??? HELP!!!! -- lule4ever Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

| Re: Media Player 11 (11.0.6000.6344) Your system install is invalid. I have no idea what they did to get into that state, but it's certainly interesting. You would want to format the box and start over. I could probably get you limping along, but the specific error you get indicates some frightening confusion in your registry that is indicative of some wacky XP installation technique. -- Speaking for myself only.
