You seem to have some sort of Malware. Use some on line security tools to detect and read the following.

When all else fails, run HijackThis and post your log in one of the

Re: Explorer crash

Have you recently added a 3rd party program or driver that has added an icon
to the Control Panel? Try Control Panel in Classic View to determine the
3rd party (non-Vista) programs or drivers that have a control panel item.
One of them may be causing this problem. Post back as to what you find.

Re: Explorer crash

HI!

i got an error now with thr fault module..

Faulting application Explorer.EXE, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp
0x4549b091, faulting module TosBtShell.dll_unloaded, version 0.0.0.0, time
stamp 0x45b456f8, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x067d4730, process
id 0x110c, application start time 0x01c7d68373465d99.

It seems to be due to inbuilt Toshiba Bluetooth device in my vaio. I wonder
how this has started to give me trouble, as i never faced this problem
earlier.

I have not updated the drivers etc.

Any suggestions?

Re: Explorer crash

What is the model name\number of your Sony computer? (For example,
VGN-A690).

Does this Bluetooth driver\program have an icon in Control Panel? To
temporarily disable it, and see if Explorer still crashes, right-click the
icon in Control Panel, and choose Create Shortcut. A shortcut will appear
on your Desktop. On your Desktop, right click the icon and click on
Properties, then click on Change Icon. You actually don't want to change
the icon, but find out the path to the icon, for example
C:\Windows\system32\TosBtShell.dll, under "Look for icons in this file".
Note the path, then click on Cancel. If the file is TosBtShell.dll or
perhaps one ending with the extension *.cpl, go to that file in Windows
Explorer, and rename it to, for example, TosBtShell.dll.old.

Test the to see if Explorer continues to crash.

Re: Explorer crash

Hi!

Thanks for your reply, i have luckily not been facing this problem for the
past two days now, i hope it remains that way :)

I dont know what was causing it, but i think i restored a bluetooth manager
shortcut which i had removed from my startup.

Thanks again! Regards

Re: Explorer crash

Do you see this:
tosbtshell.dll_unloaded
? That's actually the name of a file on your system, if you get rid of
"_unloaded". So tosbtshell.dll is on your system, right? What file version
is it? It appears that 1.2.9.0 or so is the "current" version. Do you have
that version?

Re: Explorer crash

Are you sure it is not a hidden system file that you have to go thru the
Folder Options to find?

Re: Explorer crash

It looks like that DLL is having troubles. Can you get an upgrade for this
file from Toshiba?
