RE: 'MSINET.OCX' OR ONE OF ITS DEPENDENCIES NOT CORRECTLY REGISTERED

It's possible that the download is not compatible with Vista. If you trust
the site, you might try right clicking on the exe file and choosing Run as
Administrator. If that doesn't work, use the site's Chat service to get help.
PHP web sites could be risky, so beware.

    What version of vista?
If business or above, install the ActiveX installer service and then set it to automatic.
Then install the program by right clicking the install exe and selecting run as
    administrator.

    Hi Percy,

MSINET.OCX, a Visual Basic run-time does not ship with Windows Vista. Check this:

Support Statement for Visual Basic 6.0 on Windows Vista:
    http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vbrun/ms788708.aspx

Therefore the application manufacturer has to bundle the runtime along with the software.

    Percy,

First do a file search for msinet.ocx to be sure the file is on your
    computer.
    Then Start-Run-regsvr32 msinet.ocx
    That should register it.

If 'MSINET.OCX' is part of an older programm you want to UNinstall
    the 'not working' dependency

Because VBrun is part of Vista now, and such an old installer wont
    realize that

    do this
    regsvr32 /u /s MSINET.OCX (with administrtor privelidges)

    /u is the uninstall parameter

    from 'Run" box

There's an old little program that may help with problems registering msinet.ocx on Vista. Search for vb6cli.exe and when found and downloaded to your computer richtclick on the file to execute it with administrator rights and aftyer unpacking and running you have a good chance your problem has disappeared.
