Remote desktop connection works in XP not in Vista Ultimate

I installed Vista Ultimate from Windows XP. Remote desktop connection worked
fine on XP, but Vista doesn't even try to connect. It puts an error screen
up that says: This computer can't connect to the remote computer.

It further says this might be due to low virtual memory on your computer. I
don't have anything else open. I have 1 gig of RAM installed plus a large
virtual memory on the hard drive.

Is there a bug here or is there something I am missing.

You're trying to connect from Vista to what type of PC?

I am trying to connect to a Windows XP PC on a network. It worked well
previously using Windows XP on this same PC prior to the upgrade.

Okay... I was just trying to verify that you weren't trying to RD into an XP
    Home box.

Can you ping the XP box from the Vista box?

No, I get the error message as soon as I select "connect".

No... that's not what I'm talking about... open a cmd window with admin
rights (open Start Orb, type "cmd" in the search window, right click on
cmd.exe at top of start window and select Run As Administrator). In the cmd
window, type "ping <computer name>" if that fails, try typing "ping
<computer's IP>. We're just trying to verify that one box "sees" the other
over the network. If pinging the computer name works, then, uh, not sure
where to go from here. If pinging the computer name fails, but pinging the
IP works, try connecting via RD to the IP. If pinging to the IP fails, then
there's something wrong with your network settings on either one or both of
    the PC's.
