Installing Macromedia Flash Player on Windows Vista Basic

I want to be able to run my video camera from the computer so that I can get
a video off it, but whenever I try, my computer tells me that I need to
install Macromedia Flash Player. When I install Flash from the Adobe
website it says that in was install ok. When I go to try to find Flash on
    computer, it is not there.

What can I do, if I can't have macromedia on my computer then what am I
supposed to do to use my camera with my computer.

I just bought a brand new laptop and pc with vista basic already on it.

    Hi tinalove,

Flash doesn't install a stand alone program that you can click on to
run. It's a add-on for your Internet Explorer. It sounds like it
installed ok, but to double check:
    1. Open Internet Explorer
    2. Click on Tools (at top)
    3. Click Manage Add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons
    4. Check the listings under "SHOW" and you should see "Shockwave Flash
    Object"
    5. If yes, then it's installed.

    Hope this helps,

Re: Installing Macromedia Flash Player on Windows Vista Basic

Ok, I did what you said and yes it did install but I have one other question.

I got a new Sony Handycam and it came with it's own cd so I thought I
wouldn't have any problems. The problem I am having with my camera with
Vista is that when I try to start up the program that lets me view my videos
on my computer, it keeps telling me that "To run this application, you need
to install Macromedia Flash Player first"

What do I need to do in order to get my camera working on my computer?????

I am very frustrated because before I did a few updates to vista, I couldn't
even get the computer to recognize my camera. I am still running vista
    basic.
