| Error 0x0000007E
Hello, I bought this laptop which came pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium. I use this laptop for both business and personal. Some of my personal training softwares aren't available for Vista, so I decided to install XP Home as a dual boot, and every time I try to install XP, I get the following error. A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters. check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup options, and then select safe mode. Technical information: **STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005,0xF76120BF,0xF7A5E208,0xF7A5DF08) *** pci.sys - address F76120BF base at F760B000, datestamp 3b7d855c This is what I have done so far: 1) Disabled all PCI drivers, still wouldn't let me install XP 2) update the BIOS, no luck 3) tried to install XP on a brand new Hard drive (no traces of Vista), didn't work. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |
