Sims 1 and Vista Home Premium

I have all the expansion packs and the Sims Deluxe Edition and I wanted to
put them on my new computer, which came with Vista Home Premium, and NOTHING
is working correctly. I found that my other games I can run them as an
adminstrator and they work fine, but not in this case. If anyone has ANY
suggestions please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Sims 1 and Vista Home Premium

Might try plopping down $19.99 for The Sims 1 Complete Collection. It's the
Sims 1 with all expansions and updates. I haven't tried it on Vista, but
it's been updated to new paths that're more WinXP friendly.

I bought Sims I Complete Collection, it played fine for a few times, and now
it shuts itself down while loading. There is no error message. I've
uninstalled and reinstalled and it still does not work. Help?

Re: Sims 1 and Vista Home Premium

Compatibility mode as ThatGuy suggested is good.

Update your video/audio card drivers. Did you install any software since the
last time you played? Sometimes new programs cause other programs to fail.
Windows has been getting a lot of updates recently. That could be it.

Hi,

I've had windows vista on my laptop for over a year (it came with it) and it's pretty slick and clean looking but why isn't it compatible with a lot of software! like for instance, the window's chess game...worked twice then never worked again...always gives the "executable for chess game has stopped working". I gave up on that. another one, iTunes...has numerous problems in running. Now, I've just recently gotten the sims 2 deluxe and it was running okay but now I've gotten an expansion pack for it and the game works okay one time after installation then it will not open again and gives me an error. "The application has crashed and will now terminate" I've tried absolutely everything (and making sure my games and applications meet the system requirements, and they do, compatibility mode, installing the sims 2 updates and expansion pack updates as well which the open for business one wont install after playing the game once...)

So, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 comes out, I immediately get it, although the first time I couldn't get it from off your site, I had to for some reason get it from my update manger. It took forever but installed (great!) but then when I rebooted ect...half my applications gave me errors like MSN live messenger. It wouldn't even boot up! Crashed. So I uninstalled it and MSN is working again. My games never worked after the install either. What can I do to make my games work and get rid of those errors?? Help!

Annoyed Vista User...
