RE: Error with Windows Defender - cant update definition

Fireplug1 here and I have the answer everyone is looking for in order to fix
the Windows Defender Error code 0x80240029; and follow this link to
    www.support.microsoft.com and see KB934562 article..link:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934562/en-us
cut/or/copy-paste into your browser address bar and it will take you to the
site where you can read what to do...I just got off the phone with Microsoft
Vista Team and this is where I was directed. It is a very simple fix. Simply
start in Safe mode and click on the start button first then type in start
search bar %windir%, then look for SoftwareDistribution folder and rename it
SoftwareDistribution.old and hit enter and then restart computer and make
sure all your check boxes are checked for automatic updates inside Windows
Vista then go to Windows Defender and click on check for updates now, and
then it will succeed and the error code will disappear because Windows Vista
made a brand new folder to take the place of the corrupted folder
SoftwareDistribution!!! Problem all gone now, Windows Defender is
fixed!!Please pass this fix on to others having similar difficulty. It works
for all versions of Windows Vista!
    Thanks; signed Fireplug1
