| Disabling fast user switching in Vista
In XP you could disable FUS by setting AllowMultipleTSSessions to 0 in either - WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, OR - Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System (the policy took precedence) That value could be changed in real-time. But they don't seem to work in Vista even after a reboot. Is it not possible to disable FUS anymore? |

Thanks, they changed the name to HideFastUserSwitching You used to be able to make the change programmatically and the change would be immediately reflected on the Start menu. Vista caches the state and doesn't reload until you logoff. Is there any way to force Vista to change it's Start menu to remove the Switch Users in real- time? |

>> Vista caches the state and doesn't reload until you logoff. Works fine here. I used Regedit.exe to create/alter the values, and the changes are dynamic. I see that you're using a program to write that value. Can you try Regedit.exe to change the "HideFastUserSwitching" value and observe what happens? -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com <andrewbb@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1174456530.992078.257130@d57g2000hsg.googlegroups.com...
