| How do I access the command prompt in reduced functionality mode?
I know you can type slmgr -rearm to continue using the trial period for a total of 120 days. However, I can't get to the command prompt, as all I see is the web browser. Is there a shortcut command or something I can do to get to the command prompt? Microsoft has said your allowed to do it, but I haven't used the computer in a few days and forgot to type it in. Also, is there a way I could save all my files and unistall vista and reinstall XP? A lot of things don't work right with it. The main reason I want to keep it activated is just to save all my files and settings. |

Click the Start button and choose All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. Or click Start type com and click Command Prompt. Should work either way. My copy of Vista is already in reduced functionality mode, so the only thing I can access is the command prompt. Is there any way to backup my data, or do I have to format my hard drive to reinstall xp. I don't want vista on my system anymore, all I want is to save my files on my hard drive. Open the browser and type C: in the Address Bar and click Enter. Click the Allow Button, this will open Windows Explorer. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32. Locate the cmd.exe file and right click, Run As Administrator. This should get you to the command prompt. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "Dirkpitt" <Dirkpitt@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:50419F92-9FF9-4F74-A204-9DE7B753F1DA@microsoft.com... > My copy of Vista is already in reduced functionality mode, so the only > thing > I can access is the command prompt.
