New Intel drivers for 945G/GS Express Chipsets

Compaq Presario SR2180NX, Vista Home Premium 32-bit, Intel Pentium D, Intel
945G Express Chipset, using an X2gen 19" LCD. Bought new Feb, 2007. (Problem
with Nortons on old Gateway with ME)

Ran PC check at PC Pitstop. Graphics not up to par. Suggested look for new
    Graphics Driver.

When I tried to download and install the new drivers for the 945G Express
Chipset Family from Intel, I got the message:
The driver is not validated for this computer. Contact your manufacturer for
    correct drivers.

HP has only my current drivers listed. Have submitted question to HP about
validation and newer drivers, but have not gotten an answer yet.

Does anyone know if MS is working with theses new drivers?

RE: New Intel drivers for 945G/GS Express Chipsets

Gateway MX8711, Vista Home Premium 32 Bit, Dual Core 1.6, 945GM express
chipset, 2 gigs RAM, 17 inch LCD. I ran into the same problem with the same
drivers for my Gateway laptop with the same video chipset. Gateway offered
the updated driver at their website specifically touting it for Windows
Vista. I got the same error message. Gateway support suggested going to the
Intel site and looking for an updated driver. I found the Intel driver
specifically for my chipset and Windows Vista. When I tried installing that
driver I got the same message again - that the driver was not validated for
my system. I cannot find help from anyone about how to install a driver that
is supposedly made for the chipset/Windows Vista combination without getting
the validation error message. Ready to give up!

    Try this:
    1) delete all of your temp files
    2) temporarily turn off UAC...run/msconfig/disable UAC/launch, then
reboot then try again to install the driver.

Frank - thank you. I did exactly like you said and the driver installed in
minutes with no issues. Now why couldn't tech support at Gateway just tell
me the same thing? WOuld have saved me hours of headache.
